Taste of Alpharetta 2024

This year I had plans for Mother's Day weekend and was considering deviating from the longstanding annual tradition I have attended since I moved to Atlanta in 2006.

Over the past two years, they've made a transition from paper tickets to reloadable cards, accompanied by a user-friendly website for tracking food tickets.

I continue to frequent this event annually, irrespective of my distance from Alpharetta, for several compelling reasons: the convenience of complimentary parking, no admission fees, and the relief from parking-related hassles like booting, towing, or ticketing in nearby business lots. Plus, I relish the opportunity to indulge in a variety of delectable cuisines!

I couldn't try them all, as with my dilemma every year but here is the list of the ones that I had to try and some that really blew me away.

  • 2BWhole Gluten Free Bakery: Lovely bakery in Downtown Alpharetta in the heart of the festival venue, served up two options: Gluten Free Cookies and Gluten Free cake. The staff is so very nice and helpful.
  • Beto's Tacos: Carne Asada tacos. Chunks of steak in a corn tortilla, and topped with what you want. It was so good!
  • Delbar: Lamb and Labneh pita. The lamb is so good, and the labneh is so creamy. Yumm!
  • It's a Sweet Life Bakery: Mini Jar of cake, I got the Bourbon Caramel. Yummy!
  • Kona Grill: Crab sushi! So good, they give you 4 pieces instead of the two at the other booth.
  • Nothing Bundt Cakes: My friend's favorite had mini bundts so I got two flavors to bring home. Lemon Blueberry and Red Velvet.
  • Pampas: So, they had free baked goods for every taste purchase, so I had the 2 beef empanadas.
  • Smallcakes Cupcakery: I was going to get mini cupcakes but the two bundt cakes seemed bigger and yummier than all that frosting.
  • Vitality Bowls: Yummy acai bowls, just the right kind of dessert to finish off a warm evening.
  • The best one that surprised me was the Snooze AM Eatery. This sounded like a traditional breakfast joint, and with four tickets left, I couldn't resist the deal: two regular-sized pancakes for just $2.
Opting for the Strawberry Shortcake and Chocolate Chip varieties, I brought them home as I was already quite full! As I gazed at the generous plate, I couldn't help but remark on the sheer sweetness of it all.
Taking a tentative bite of the pancake, I was met with a delightful surprise – it was airy and fluffy yet satisfyingly thick. Then came the toppings – a symphony of textures and flavors. The almond flour-based topping provided a satisfying crunch, complemented perfectly by the velvety whipped cream and real strawberry compote. These weren't your average canned toppings – these were the real deal. Despite my initial concern about the sugar content, the overall experience wasn't overly sweet; it was just right.

I savored every bite, thoroughly enjoying the blend of flavors and textures. It was a delightful indulgence, and I couldn't help but express my gratitude to the ladies who suggested it. It was an excellent choice indeed!
